The Los Angeles Clippers are getting ready for the next season, and Kawhi Leonard is confident in his team. The Clippers are under federal investigation for Leonard’s salary cap scandal, but nothing limits them from building strongly to chase the title. The team is ready to shine on the court as a strong contender in the West.

Leonard has had a rough summer so far. However, he reportedly feels healthy and strong ahead of the season, and head coach Ty Lue also praised his fitness. Last season, Leonard missed 34 games due to a knee issue but returned to play 37 of the final 48 games. He was also a key part of the playoff against the Denver Nuggets and played all seven games with an average of 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

“It was big, because obviously, the front office got a chance to see what we needed — not just from me being out in a playoff series,” Leonard talked about the Clippers’ growth. “ Me being able to play a full playoff series and what we needed around James, myself, Zu, the other talents on the team. That void for the second-string big hasn’t been filled. Even the four men are a lot…..So that’s what you need in this league through the ups and downs. Just having heart and having a great mindset.”

With a robust roster and Bradley Beal leading from the front, the Clippers will try to make a strong contention next season. However, Leonard’s injury and ongoing legal issues will remain a significant concern. The Clippers hope he will stay healthy and aim to contribute more to meet the team’s expectations.

The Clippers and Kawhi Leonard’s ongoing salary cap scandal made waves across the league. The case is still under investigation, and much information has come to light that indicates the franchise broke the salary cap rules. However, NBA executive Adam Silver voiced his opinion on the matter.

“This was not something that was on our radar to even be thinking about. When this concludes, we’ll take a fresh look at our rules in terms of companies that players are investing in, and owners,” Silver told.“There are literally thousands of deals that cover all our teams. these are brands that have major investors, major funds… And so, yes, there’s a league approval process, but it doesn’t go deep into interviewing executives for every deal that comes through the league office.”

If the franchise is found guilty, there will be potential actions against them and Kawhi Leonard. However, Silver’s statement indicates the league will be much more cautious in the future with its rules.
