The non-conference portion of the basketball schedule is slowly coming into place, as it was announced today that Penn State and Providence will face each other in the Hall of Fame Showcase at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The game will take place on Saturday, November 22nd, with tip-off time to be announced at a later date, and will be part of a doubleheader that same day, which will also feature Boston University and Harvard. If you’re a hoops fan and a degenerate attending this showcase in person, you will probably feel like you’re in heaven.

Much like PSU, Providence will seek to turn the page on a rough 2024-2025 campaign, after going 12-20 overall and 6-14 in Big East play last season. This will be the fourth-ever meeting between the two programs, with PSU owning a 2-1 record in the series. The last time the Nittany Lions and Friars squared off was in 2012, when PSU won 55-52 in an overtime thriller in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The time before that, was in the first round of the 2001 NCAA Tournament, when PSU won 69-59, en route to a magical Sweet 16 run.
