Jalen Brunson (11 points), Karl-Anthony Towns (10 points), Jordan Clarkson (10 points), and Miles McBride (10 points) all scored in double figures in the win.

Washington opened up the preseason with a 113-112 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Veterans CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton led the way with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists in the loss.
Second-year big man Alex Sarr played 17 minutes, finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds on 4-of-5 shooting. Kyshawn George and Bub Carrington from the same rookie class combined for 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks.
Rookie Tre Johnson came off the bench for eight points and seven rebounds on 3-of-9 shooting from the field. Johnson got up shots in a hurry with the third most field goal attempts in just 23 minutes off the bench.
