A multi-year extension of Audacy’s partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment will expand coverage of three professional sports teams across audio and video platforms in the Washington, DC market.

As part of the deal, Audacy sports “106.7 The Fan” WJFK-FM becomes the radio flagship for the NBA’s Washington Wizards, while continuing as the home of the NHL’s Washington Capitals, with select games, including Wizards broadcasts when both teams play, airing on Audacy sister stations “The Team 980” WTEM and WDCH (99.1).

Additionally, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics games will continue to air on Audacy’s “The Fan,” “The Team,” WDCH, and “1580 The Bet” WJFK-AM. The broadcasts, including halftime reports, will feature live audio simulcasts from Monumental Sports Network (MNMT)’s TV broadcast.

Two of The Fan’s weekday shows, “The Sports Junkies” mornings and “BMitch and Finlay” middays, will simulcast on MNMT and stream live and on demand on The Fan’s YouTube channel, effective Nov. 3.

Wizards’ radio coverage features Dave Johnson, returning for his 29th season as the team’s radio voice, with analyst Glenn Consor in his 19th season. For the Capitals, John Walton will call the plays for a 15th season, while former Capital Ken Sabourin enters his 23rd as analyst. Walton will host the new “Capitals Saturday Faceoff,” airing Saturday mornings on “The Fan” and available on the Caps Radio Network Podcast Channel.

“We are excited to extend and expand our partnership with Monumental Sports to enhance the listening and viewing experience for fans,” Audacy Washington, DC Senior VP and Market Manager Ivy Savoy-Smith, said in a release. “Being the flagship station for the Wizards and Capitals solidifies our position as the top destination for D.C. sports fans.
