OMAHA – Creighton’s Annalea Maeder was named BIG EAST Setter of the Week for the third time this fall Monday.
Maeder averaged 10.67 assists, 2.17 digs, 2.17 kills, 0.33 blocks and 0.33 aces per set as Creighton swept a pair of teams that entered the weekend tied for second place in the BIG EAST. She also helped the Bluejays hit a league-high .424 in the two victories.
Maeder’s week started with 34 assists, six digs, four kills, a block and an ace on .429 hitting in a 3-0 win at Georgetown. Creighton hit .393 in that contest.
On Saturday, the Ried, Switzerland native had 30 assists, seven digs and a career-high nine kills on .571 hitting in a 3-0 win at Villanova. Creighton hit a season-best .457 in the victory against the Wildcats, who entered the evening with a 13-3 record.
Maeder was also recognized on Sept. 15 and Sept. 29 with the BIG EAST Setter of the Week award. Bluejay teammates Ava Martin and Kiara Reinhardt each landed on the BIG EAST’s Weekly Honor Roll this week.
After four straight matches on the road, Creighton returns home Friday for a 6 p.m. match against St. John’s.
