Russell Westbrook dominates the list for the Thunder for most points scored in a playoff game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder won their first-ever title in the 2024-25 NBA season after defeating the Indiana Pacers in a thrilling seven-game series. However, that’s not the first time the Thunder have been successful in the playoffs. They had some epic playoff runs in the past, and they also had some individual performances that will never be forgotten. Here, we’ll take a look at the top five individual scoring performances in the history of the organization. Surprisingly, only one player takes the five spots.

Russell Westbrook, 51 points (2017 Western Conference First Round, Game 2)

Westbrook enjoyed a spell of statistical dominance in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, and he reflected that in the postseason as well. The star floor general delivered the best scoring output for a Thunder player in the playoffs during the 2017 playoff run after posting 51 points in a 115-111 loss to the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of the Western First Round on April 19. Westbrook finished that game with 13 assists, 10 rebounds, four steals and a block while shooting 17-for-43 from the field.

Russell Westbrook, 47 points (2017 Western Conference First Round, Game 5)

Continuing with his epic performance in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, the star floor general not only posted the best scoring performance from a Thunder in the playoffs during the first-round series against the Rockets in the 2017 playoffs, but he also recorded the second-best outing in that same category. Only six days after his 51-point outburst, Westbrook notched 47 points in a 105-99 defeat against Houston. That Game 5 loss eliminated Oklahoma City from the playoffs. Westbrook left it all out on the court that night, though. He also added 11 rebounds and nine assists in that contest.

Russell Westbrook, 46 points (2018 Western Conference First Round, Game 6)

Westbrook continued his scoring exploits in the 2018 NBA Playoffs, and he surpassed the 45-point mark twice in that run. He delivered an impressive 46-point performance in a 96-91 loss to the Utah Jazz in Game 6 of the Western Conference First Round on April 27. That game resulted in the Thunder’s elimination by a 4-2 score in the series. Aside from scoring 46 points, Westbrook also finished the game with 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Russell Westbrook, 45 points (2018 Western Conference First Round, Game 5)

Westbrook reached the 45-point plateau twice in the aforementioned series against the Jazz, as he was a dominant scoring force despite the first-round exit. He also achieved that mark in Game 5 of the series on April 25, as the star floor general finished with 45 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists across 44 minutes while leading the Thunder to a 107-99 victory.

Russell Westbrook, 43 points (2012 NBA Finals, Game 4)

Last but not least, the Thunder’s fifth-highest scoring performance in the playoffs also belongs to Westbrook. However, that happened in the 2012 NBA playoffs, when the Thunder still had the core of Westbrook, Kevin Durant and James Harden in place. This 42-point performance came in Game 4 of the 2012 NBA Finals against LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Westbrook finished with 43 points, seven rebounds and five assists across 45 minutes, but the Thunder still lost by a tight 104-98 score.
