Duncanville and FW Boswell lead preseason basketball poll – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches released its high school preseason rankings for the 2025-2026 season this week.

Last year’s 6AD1 boys champion, Duncanville, is starting the year ranked No. 1. North Crowley is ranked No. 2 in 6A and Denton Guyer, last year’s 6AD2 champion is ranked No. 9. On the girls side, Fort Worth Boswell, last year’s 6AD2 champion, is ranked No. 1 with last year’s 6AD1 champion Humble Summer Creek right behind them at No. 2.

In 5A, Beaumont West Brook won the D1 state title in 2024-2025 and is starting off the year ranked No. 5 behind No. 2 Frisco Memorial and No. 3 NRH Birdville. Last season’s 5AD2 winner, Mansfield Summit, is starting the year ranked at No. 13. On the girls’ side, last year’s title winners, 5AD1 winner Denton Ryan and 5AD2 winner Lubbock Monterey, are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in 5A, respectively.

This season, girls can begin practicing on Oct. 22, and games start Nov. 7. For boys, practice begins Oct. 29, with the first games scheduled for Nov. 14. Playoffs will begin in February 2026, and the state title games will be held in March.
