The Charlotte Hornets are looking to change the narrative when it comes to their misfortunes.
The last time the Charlotte Hornets made the playoffs was in the 2015–16 season.
The Hornets are hoping they will finally have success this season and compete for a Play-In spot.
Led by LaMelo Ball, the Hornets had a nice summer which included them drafting Kon Knueppel fourth overall. The Hornets also acquired Collin Sexton in a trade with the Utah Jazz.

Collin Sexton will be a big catalyst for the Hornets as a starter.
He will be able to get the Hornets’ offense organized in tough situations and he should open things up more for Brandon Miller and Ball.
Sexton spoke to The Charlotte Observer about what it’s like to play alongside Ball.
“You see how talented he is and how good he is. And I think that was something that I didn’t…I always watched his game.
“I always knew how good he was. But when you’re out there with him, you be like “‘Wow.’ You get those wow factors at times from some of the stuff that he does.”
The Charlotte Hornets are looking to end their long playoff drought
The last time Ball played in the All-Star game was also the last time he was available for 50 or more games.
Therefore, if the Hornets want to take a leap this season it starts with LaMelo staying healthy. He has an All-NBA-level game, but in order for him to be effective, he needs to stay on the court.
The Hornets have other solid young players like Miller who also needs to stay healthy and Knueppel who is as NBA-ready as it gets.
Given the landscape of the East this season and teams like the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics expected to take a step back, it seems like there will be an opportunity for the Hornets to fill one of the four vacant Play-In spots.
