COLUMBIA, Mo. (KCTV) – The University of Missouri men’s basketball program solidified the signing of a veteran big man on Wednesday.
Arizona State transfer Shawn Phillips Jr. signed Wednesday as the fourth Tiger to join the 2025-26 Mizzou roster.
“We’re excited to welcome Shawn to Mizzou,” said head coach Dennis Gates. “Shawn brings valuable experience to our program, having played in three power conferences, including a season in the SEC. He has great size, length and athleticism and has a strong presence in the paint with elite rim protection skills.”
Phillip played 53 games with the Sun Devils over the past two seasons. As a junior last season, Phillips averaged 5.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
The 7-footer from Dayton, Ohio, played his freshman season at LSU in 2022-23.
He becomes the Tigers’ fourth signing out of the transfer portal this spring, joining UCLA guard Sebastian Mack, Oklahoma forward Luke Northweather and Loyola Marymount forward Jevon Porter.
