Mark Wahlberg Brings Movie Magic to TD Garden
On Sunday, October 12, the Celtics hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers in preseason action at TD Garden. Though the home team came out on top 138-107, that wasn’t the highlight of the day.

Mark Wahlberg was in attendance, sporting a Larry Bird jersey of course, as filming continued for his upcoming Apple TV+ movie Weekend Warriors.
The film is about a father who road-trips with his autistic son to visit every NBA arena to help the son choose his favorite team.

Wahlberg could be seen with his young co-star, Indie DesRoches, in the crowd. It was a moment nearby fans were quick to share on social media.
The camera crew was hard to miss, as their presence drew attention away from the game and toward the Boston native.

At halftime, the stars took to the court to film a scene of what appears to be DeRoches’ character making a halfcourt shot.

Weekend Warriors takes inspiration from a 2023 German film, Weekend Rebels.
The German film was based on a German book that tells the true life story of a man and his autistic son on an epic journey to find the son’s favorite team by visiting all 56 soccer stadiums.
