After getting the start on Tuesday night in Portland, Jonathan Kuminga had an impressive start against the Portland Trail Blazers in the preseason. However, his night came to an end earlier than expected.

With time winding down in the second half, the Golden State wing drove to the basket on his way to a missed layup. As Kuminga drove through the lane, he appeared to draw some contact from Portland defenders. As the ball went to the other side of the court, Kuminga went to the baseline official to plead his case for a foul. Things quickly escalated as Kuminga made contact with the official, triggering an ejection.

Kuminga played 18 minutes in the first half, scoring seven points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field to go along with six boards and four assists against the Blazers.

With Kuminga ejected, the Trail Blazers took a five-point lead into the locker room at halftime. Despite Kuminga’s ejection, the Warriors went on a run to a comeback win over the Blazers on Tuesday night, 118-111.

Kuminga will have the chance to return to the court on Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers in Golden State’s preseason finale.
