Earlier on Friday, the Chicago Bulls gave the reigning, defending NBA Slam Dunk champion, Mac McClung, a part of their team with a new deal.
It felt like all was right with the world, considering that McClung has saved the dunk contest for the best three seasons, and won all three.

However, McClung’s tenure with the Bulls may end up being the most forgettable in league history. Actually, it may also be the shortest tenure in league history as well.
Kevin Smith of Spotrac has reported that the Bulls have waived McClung, just three hours after making him a member of the official roster.
McClung has appeared in just six NBA games during his professional career. In that time, the three-time dunk champion has played for the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and, wouldn’t you know it, the Chicago Bulls.
If a guy can win the dunk contest three times and average 25 points per game in the G-League, it feels like he has earned a spot on an NBA roster, right?

Whatever the case may be, the Bulls are not moving forward with McClung on the roster, and the NBA world will now what on his return in February, when he wins the dunk contest again.
