The Kentucky Wildcats have proven they can compete with just about anyone. Last season they went on to defeat both Duke University (a March Madness No. 1 seed) and the University of Florida (the eventual national champion). In 2025, they have a chance to contend in the SEC and make a solid run in the NCAA tournament.

Mark Pope impressed in his first season as Kentucky’s head coach, and he’ll be leading one of the most talented rosters in the country in year two. Forward Jayden Quaintance, although recovering from an ACL injury, is a highly skilled athlete who may be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft. Jaland Lowe, a transfer from the University of Pittsburgh, and Otega Oweh, the SEC Preseason Player of the Year, are two more key pieces for UK. Lowe is a veteran point guard Kentucky trusts to run their offense, and Oweh is a two-way wing who can defend multiple positions, score, and handle the ball.

Denzel Aberdeen, Kam Williams, and Mouhamed Dioubate are other names to watch for the Wildcats. Aberdeen is a transfer from Florida with over 80 games of experience. He’s expected to start as a wing alongside Oweh. Williams is a reliable shooter off the bench and one of the better perimeter threats in the country. Dioubate is a versatile forward who should play a lot of minutes and might even start while Quaintance rehabs his knee.

Although it’s just the second year under Pope, the Kentucky Wildcats are one of the more experienced teams in college basketball going into 2025. They should have the talent, depth, and veteran leadership to be a serious threat in the NCAA tournament.

You can watch every game on the Kentucky basketball schedule live without cable on Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, and more. Exact team schedules are decided by networks during the season and are subject to change. Blackout restrictions may apply depending on your location.
