The Miami Heat team president Pat Riley has been a part of the organization for decades, and has been part of multiple championship teams, including LeBron James’ tenure with the team.

The Heat team with James was stacked with players like Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, and much more.

Chalmers appeared on an interview on The Coach JB Show, where he discussed controversy and speculation behind James’ impact on the organization.

After a question was asked that he had control over certain situations and plans for players, which Chalmers immediately denied it because “Pat Riley wasn’t going for that.”

Chalmers went on to say [James] could have done it at other teams but he did not do it with the Heat, showing Riley’s assertion over any and all situations.

He praises Riley and says he is known as the godfather for a reason. As a coach, he won coach of the year three times and was an NBA champion five times, including one with the Heat in the 2005-06 season.

James is coming off a disappointing season with the Los Angeles Lakers including a first round exit to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With him being 40 years old, many are questioning his future in the NBA and if he will continue. He said after his season came to a close that he would take time to think and discuss with his family for his next steps.

Will we see him play more, and potentially be able to play with both Bryce and Bronny James at the same time? If that were the case, it would be an incredible sight to behold, but will need a couple years more of James playing into his early 40s.
