Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and will be reevaluated in one week, per multiple media reports.
As a result, the star big man is expected to miss the team’s opener on Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns. In his absence, veteran posts Drew Eubanks and Dario Saric are expected to take on larger roles. Both centers started games for the team this preseason.

Domantas Sabonis has established himself as one of the most productive big men in the NBA. More on Domantas Sabonis & the Sacramento Kings
As the start of the 2025-26 NBA regular season nears, the Sacramento Kings have trimmed their roster down to 18 players.

The Kings could still make a roster move ahead of Wednesday’s opener, but after inking Russell Westbrook to a one-year deal earlier this week, they appear to be set for the start of the regular season.
