Giannis Antetokounmpo addresses trade report, reaffirms commitment to Bucks
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo addressed a trade report after practice on Oct. 8, during which he reaffirmed his commitment to team.
The Milwaukee Bucks faced a numbers crunch on their roster heading into the regular-season cut deadline, and a league source told the Journal Sentinel on Oct. 16 that 22-year-old forward Chris Livingston was one of the odd players out, as he will be waived by the team.
That will open up a guaranteed spot on the 15-person roster, which must be finalized by 4 p.m. CT Oct. 20. Coach Doc Rivers has been complimentary of the play of veteran Amir Coffey at the end of training camp. Coffey signed a non-guaranteed training camp deal after spending his first six seasons in the league with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Andre Jackson Jr. was guaranteed $800,000 to push back his full guarantee date to Oct. 20. Should he make the team, he’ll earn $2.2 million. The Bucks acquired Jackson’s draft rights from Orlando in 2023, and the guard has played in 124 games the last two seasons, including 51 starts.
Livingston was the No. 58 pick in the 2023 draft and signed the largest deal ever for a second-round pick at $7.7 million over four years. He played just 42 games for the Bucks and was waived in the summer to make room for the signing of Myles Turner. Livingston then re-signed to a one-year, $2.29 million guaranteed deal.
