Fans from all over came to watch the Bucks’ open practice

The Bucks open the season Wednesday against the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m.

The NBA season starts Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Bucks welcomed fans to watch their annual open practice at Fiserv Forum. A basketball coach at Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School in Wauwatosa said he wanted to bring his son to watch how an NBA team prepares for games. He said he hopes to see more charisma on the team.

“Just to come with a different energy, bring a winning mentality to the game,” said Darren Hudson. “Last year was a little rough for us last year, so I’m just hoping that they bring that winning mentality back to the culture and Milwaukee.”

Quemont Greer said the competition will “Fear the Deer.” He expects the Bucks to finish in the top three in the NBA’s Eastern Conference and charge their way to the finals. After growing up watching the team, Greer said he believes earning a Bucks title rests on the shoulders of Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“He’s a huge part of this organization and looking forward to watching him and continue to watch him grow,” said Greer. “He’s been here since he was a kid, now getting to watch him as an adult and develop and win a championship for us over the last couple of years and continue to keep growing.”

The Bucks decided to move on from All-Star guard Damian Lillard in the offseason after he injured his Achilles in the 2025 playoffs. A Bucks fan from Mississippi said it’s a hurdle the team can navigate.

“That was huge, but you know it’s one man down, next man up. I’m military, so that’s the way it goes,” said John Neal.

Hudson siad he believes that no matter the roster, the team will only go as far as Antetokounmpo will take them.

“Giannis is the greatest player in the NBA; that’s all I have to say,” said Hudson. “That’s what he means. When you have the greatest, you have to come with the greatest. I can’t explain nothing but greatness when you speak Giannis.”

The Bucks open the season at home on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against the Washington Wizards.
