MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies will tip off their opening night Wednesday, Oct. 22 against the New Orleans Pelicans at the FedEx Forum.
The Grizzlies said fans can expect a full night of celebration, with 5,000 fans receiving a Grizzlies 25th Anniversary T-shirt.
The night will honor 25 years of the Memphis Grizzlies. The team said it will be a night filled with music including a National Anthem performance by Stax Academy, which will also assist Moneybagg Yo during player introductions.
The team also encouraged fans to stay in their seats for halftime for performances by Shinedown, featuring Memphis native Zach Myers, and Memphian Carla Thomas. The night also includes performances from Al Kapone, the Beale Street Flippers, Grizz Girls and more.
The team’s originial PA announcer when the Grizzlies first moved to Memphis will return as a special guest to announce the starting lineups.
A Plaza Party will take place on the Big River Steel Plaza from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a parade at the Big River Steel Edge starting at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets start at $25 to celebrate the 25 anniversary season.
