Guard

Stud

Luka Doncic, Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors ($11,000): It was a wild season for Doncic last season, as he was traded midseason. Despite having to deal with that media circus, playing with new teammates and in a different city, Doncic still averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 3.6 treys in 35.1 mpg over 28 games. He’s now shed a few lbs and will be without LeBron James on the court beside him. Last season, with James off the court, Doncic saw a whopping 8.81% usage rate bump. Doncic averaged 1.47 FPTS per minute last season and should be among the leaders on this slate.

Other Options: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,300), Stephen Curry ($9,300), Amen Thompson ($7,900), Austin Reaves ($7,300)

Value

Reed Sheppard, Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder ($4,900): With the Rockets going with a supersized lineup to start against the Thunder’s double-big lineup, Sheppard will not be starting. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be a factor. He will still likely get a ton of fun in this run, but with a few minutes shaved off from if he was starting. The matchup is tough because the Thunder are one of the best defensive teams in the league, and there’s always the chance that Ime Udoka shies away from Sheppard in this one. That said, the price is palatable for the upside because Sheppard can not only score, but he racks up steals as well.

Other Options: Cason Wallace ($5,100), Gabe Vincent ($3,500)

Forward

Stud

Kevin Durant, Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder ($9,700): Durant may not have the ceiling of a Doncic or Jokic, but the floor is incredibly high due to his across-the-board contributions and, of course, his ability to get buckets. Against anyone. This matchup is a tough one, as the Thunder are one of the most ferocious defenses in the game. For Durant, he probably views it like an annoying fly buzzing around his head. Durant did not play in both matchups with OKC last season while he was with the Phoenix Suns.

Other Options: Jimmy Butler ($8,000),

Value

Al Horford, Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers ($5,500): While in Boston, Horford was managed to a degree, playing 65 and 60 games while averaging around 27 mpg. I’m expecting a similar workload with the Warriors. Despite being 39 years old, Horford still looks spry and is able to switch and guard defenders on the perimeter. He will be asked to do a similar thing as with Boston on offense, which is to space the floor. With Deandre Ayton likely to be on him for much of the game, Horford should get plenty of clean looks. Last season, he put up at least 30 FPTS seven times, with three over 40 FPTS.

Other Options: Draymond Green ($5,700), Rui Hachimura ($5,600), Aaron Wiggins ($5,000), Alex Caruso ($4,600), Jake LaRavia ($3,600)

Center

Stud

Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder ($9,200): The only thing Sengun does not contribute is treys. Mini Jokic likely won’t get close to averaging 10 assists per game, but around five is pretty, pretty good. The Rockets are a much different team without Fred VanVleet, the acquisition of Kevin Durant and the expected increased role for Amen Thompson, but Sengun will still continue to act as an offensive hub and produce those fantasy goodies. In four games against OKC last season, Sengun went for 32.2, 54, 33.8 and 44 FPTS.

Other Options: Deandre Ayton ($6,300)

Value

Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers ($5,700): The range of outcomes is wide for Green. Last season, he finished with fewer than 20 FPTS eight times. He also put up at least 40 FPTS nine times with a high of 53 FPTS. He’s in play to triple-double on any given night and his IQ allows him to rack up defensive stats. I’m not expecting the Lakers to be a juggernaut on defense, so Green could rack up plenty of assists in this one as well.

Other Options: Al Horford ($5,500), Isaiah Hartenstein ($5,400)
