Jaylen Brown offers injury update ahead of season-opener vs. 76ers originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Jaylen Brown isn’t ready to declare his status for opening night, but doesn’t seem overly concerned about his hamstring.

“We’ll see,” Brown responded at Auerbach Center on Monday when asked if he’ll be able to play in Boston’s regular-season opener Wednesday. “We’ll take it one day at a time, but as of now, I feel great.”

Brown’s update comes five days after he hobbled off the court with hamstring tightness. The four-time NBA All-Star did not return in the preseason finale against the Toronto Raptors, and while it could have been precautionary, it still set off some late-night alarms with the regular season one week away.

“I wasn’t too concerned,” Brown said. “I didn’t think it was nothing. So, I was fine.”

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla indicated much of the same after the game. Mazzulla on Friday said Boston was taking it one day at a time with Brown.
