
Phoenix Suns want to play ‘to the limit’ defensively. ‘You can’t call 90 fouls’

The NBA’s 2025-26 regular season, the league’s 80th, begins Oct. 21, with the Phoenix Suns starting their season the next night at home against the Sacramento Kings.
The first two games of the 82-game season will air on NBC and its sister channel Peacock on Oct. 21.
The Kevin Durant-led Houston Rockets play the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder at 4:30 p.m. MST. That game will be followed by the Golden State Warriors at the Los Angeles Lakers, airing at 7 p.m.
NBC returned to coverage of the NBA as part of the league’s new broadcast contract along with ESPN, ABC and Amazon Prime. Most Suns’ games also will be carried locally in Phoenix by Arizona Family Sports.
The Oct. 22 slate of games includes the Suns’ home opener against the Kings at 7 p.m., which will air on Arizona’s Family Sports. That night’s nationally televised games on ESPN are the Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks at 4 p.m. MST and San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks at 7:30 p.m.
The first five days of @AmericanExpress NBA Tip-Off will feature nine national games, with doubleheaders on NBC, ESPN (two) and Prime Video.
