The NBA is back. Let’s take a look at FanDuel’s betting lines for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ season opener against the New York Knicks.

The Cavs begin the season as underdogs on the road. I can’t say I blame FanDuel. Cleveland will be without multiple starters and the Knicks are just as hungry as the Cavs to start this season strong.

With that said, the Cavaliers are more than deep enough to steal this game. The start of the season can always be hard to predict as each team shakes off the rust and searches for a rhythm. This is as close to 50/50 as it gets, so I’d just roll with my fandom and pick the Wine and Gold.

Under 229.5 total points (-112)

Vegas is expecting the Cavs and Knicks to light it up on opening night. Over 229 points would likely mean each team cracks over 110 points. Of course, there are other ways for this ‘over’ to be smashed — but the most realistic would require both teams to score in bunches.

This number might be too high for the first game of the season. Especially when the Cavs are missing some serious offensive firepower. For that, I’d lean towards the under.

Cavs Same Game Parlay Picks (+912):

Now let’s take a look at a few prop bets that can be combined into a parlay.

To score 20+ points: Evan Mobley (+126)

Fans are anticipating another offensive leap from Mobley. A 20-point night should be the standard that he’s held to moving forward. I’d expect Mobley to open the season aggressively, especially with multiple Cavs players out due to injury. This is a good pick for positive money.

Player three-pointers: Sam Merrill Over 2.5 (+110)

The Cavs are going to lean on Merrill to fill some of the three-point void being left behind by Darius Garland, Max Strus (injured) and Ty Jerome (left in free agency). An increased role for Merrill could easily result in a three-point barrage. I can’t guarantee this will hit — but I can assure you that Merrill will unload the clip and give this bet a fighting chance.

Player Assists: Lonzo Ball Over 3.5 (+110)

Ball must feel like he’s playing in a sandbox next to Cleveland’s stars. He has quickly fit into the offense, dishing 9 assists in 20 minutes during his last preseason game. Ball will likely play decent minutes on opening night, which means he’ll have plenty of opportunities to rack up assists and bring this parlay home.
