Opening night of the 2025-26 NBA season starts on Oct. 21 with a face-off between two California teams in Los Angeles.
Week 1 of the NBA season will feature a matchup between Southern California and the Bay Area, with the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Golden State Warriors.
Both teams failed to make the playoffs the previous season and were eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Houston Rockets will play against the Oklahoma City Thunder for the first official game of the season.
When does the NBA season start?
The first game of the NBA season will see the Rockets play against the Thunder at 4:30 p.m. PST at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center.
The Golden State Warriors will venture south to play at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena, where tip-off will begin at 7 p.m. PST.
