Duke basketball defeats UCF: Recap, highlights from exhibition

Duke basketball defeated UCF 96-71 in its first exhibition game ahead of the 2025-26 on Tuesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils were led by Cameron Boozer’s 33 points and 12 rebounds on a 12-for-19 shooting night from the field. Nikolas Khameia and Isaiah Evans added 14 points each while Darren Harris added 11. Cayden Boozer led with five assists.

As a team, Duke shot 42.9% (30-of-70) from the field and 34.3% (12-of-35) from 3. UCF finished the night shooting 38.4% (28-of-73) from the field and 26.7% (8-of-30) from 3.

Duke closes out exhibition play on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Tennessee before officially opening its season on Tuesday, Nov. 4, vs. Texas at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

Duke took down UCF 96-71 in its first exhibition ahead of the 2025-26 season.

UCF has made zero of its last four field goal attempts as Duke now leads the Knights 88-68 with 3:25 remaining. It marks Duke’s largest lead of the night with UCF’s last field goal coming at the 5:15 mark with a Themus Fulks layup.

A Darren Harris tip in, his third basket of the night, put Duke ahead 76-60 for its largest lead of the night.

The Blue Devils have made 9 of their last 11 field goals to hold the 68-56 lead midway through the second half. Duke held its largest lead of the game, up 64-50 at the 12:50 mark.

A 6-0 Duke run, all six points coming from Cameron Boozer, forced a UCF timeout at the 14:50 mark of the second half with Duke ahead 54-48. Boozer has 11 of Duke’s 14 second half points so far.

The Blue Devils are 3-for-3 on their last field goal attempts to lead the Knights 47-46 at the first timeout out of the break.

Duke is leading UCF 40-39 at the halftime mark. The Blue Devils are shooting 33.3% (13-of-39) from the field with 21 of their 39 shots coming from beyond the arc. The Knights are shooting 43.2% (16-of-37) from the field. Cameron Boozer leads Duke with 15 points and seven rebounds while Cayden Boozer leads with three assists.

An Isaiah Evans 3-pointer, assisted by Cayden Boozer, put Duke back ahead 40-39 with 34.3 seconds left in the first half and was followed by a UCF timeout. Evans is 3-of-7 from 3 on the night.

UCF took its first lead at the 3:23 mark of the first half, up 34-32 following a Jamichael Stillwell jumpshot. The Knights have made four of their last five field goals while Duke’s last field goal came at the 5:09 mark.

The Knights have made five of their last seven field goal attempts to make the score 26-20 with Duke leading at the 7:07 mark of the first half.

The Blue Devils are up 17-9 at a media timeout at the 11:22 mark of the first half. Duke is shooting 33% from the floor, with 13 of its 15 shot attempts coming from 3. Isaiah Evans is leading Duke with six points and Nik Khamenia leading with four rebounds.

The Blue Devils are up 12-4 at the first timeout. Duke is shooting 50% (3-of-6) from trey with Isaiah Evans making two of those and Darren Harris the other.

Cayden Boozer checked in for Caleb Foster and Darren Harris for Isaiah Evans at the 16:41 mark of the first half with Duke up 9-4.

Boozer got Duke on the board with a dunk followed point a made and-one free throw.
