Portland Trail Blazers host season opener Wednesday against Minnesota

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Trail Blazers are just hours away from their season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

You can watch the Blazers game on our secondary channel, KUNP (channel 2.2) and tip-off against the Timberwolves is at 7 p.m.

KATU News will be broadcasting live from the Moda Center for our evening broadcasts. Starting at 4 p.m., Steve Dunn and Deb Knapp will be there, along with meteorologist Dave Salesky, our sports team, and other special guests.

Fans will have plenty to look forward to at home games this season, from tasty new snacks around the concourse, new and refreshed spaces for fans – including their new video boards, and ticket deals for families and students.

For those going to the games, remember that the Broadway Bridge will be closed to vehicle and streetcar traffic for six months while crews replace parts of the bridge deck. The south sidewalk will still be open for pedestrians and cyclists getting across the Willamette.
