The Thunder started their championship defense with a 125-124 overtime victory over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. Reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 35 points in the win and Chet Holmgren had 28 points.
The Pacers will be without their star, Tyrese Haliburton, for most if not all of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon during Game 7 of last year’s Finals. They’ll have to lean on veteran leaders like Pascal Siakam and T.J. McConnell to get back to the playoffs this season in Haliburton’s absence.
