MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Bucks will be without starting guard Kevin Porter Jr. for at least the next two games, the team announced Thursday.

An MRI confirmed Porter Jr. sprained his left ankle during Wednesday night’s season-opening win over the Washington Wizards. He will miss the Bucks’ road trip to Toronto and Cleveland.

Acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers last year, Porter Jr. emerged as an important presence off the bench for the Bucks. In 30 games last season, he averaged 11.7 points while shooting 49.4 percent from the field.

Starting in Wednesday’s game, Porter looked on track for a monster night before he got hurt. In just 9 minutes of play he put up 10 points and 2 assists.

With Porter out for at least two games, the Bucks will have an early chance to test their depth.

Ryan Rollins, who played himself out of the G-League and into the NBA last year, clocked in 29 minutes off the bench Wednesday night and scored 9 points with 4 rebounds.

Veterans Kyle Kuzma and Taurean Prince also scored double figures during the win while coming off the bench.

The Bucks take their show on the road Friday night when they square off against the Toronto Raptors starting at 5:30 p.m.
