Netflix is teaming up with OBB Pictures, the film and TV division of OBB Media, and Boardroom for a documentary series chronicling the career and legacy of Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant.

Boardroom is a sports, media, and entertainment brand co-founded by Durant and his longtime business manager, Rich Kleiman. The media production company describes itself as “focused on the intersection of sports and entertainment.”

Boardroom, which calls it the “definitive” Durant documentary, describes the series as follows:

Directed by Emmy award winners Michael D. Ratner (‘Kids are Growing Up’, ‘Justin Bieber: Our World’) and Robert Alexander (‘A Man Named Scott’), the series offers Durant’s most revealing look yet at his life — from his upbringing and early basketball years to his dominance across the NBA and Team USA.It features new interviews with Durant, his family, coaches, and teammates, tracing the path of one of basketball’s most gifted and complex figures. The series commenced filming last season and will continue through this season and years beyond.

To no surprise, the series will eventually air on Netflix.

“Filming for the series began before the 2023-24 season, and will continue shooting into the current season and for years beyond as he approaches the final chapters of his career,” Netflix writes.

That timetable means that the series will presumably showcase Durant’s last two seasons with the Phoenix Suns; his trade to the Rockets in the 2025 offseason, and his time in Houston during the 2025-26 season and beyond.

To date, Durant’s legendary career includes two NBA championships and two NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards; 15 All-Star selections; six All-NBA First Team slots; and one regular-season MVP award. Durant is currently the eighth-leading scorer in league history, and he could further climb the list this season.

Now 37 years old, Durant is a Hall of Fame lock once his career ends — and he is making it clear that he wants the final chapter to be in Houston. Preferably, with at least one more championship.
