The Golden State Warriors (2-0) travel to face the Portland Trail Blazers (0-1) tonight at Moda Center in Portland.

Golden State enters off an impressive start, winning its first two games behind the still-formidable tandem of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

The Warriors opened the season with a 119–109 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, where Butler poured in 31 points and Curry added 23. They then followed with a thrilling 137–131 overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets, powered by Curry’s 42-point eruption and clutch shooting down the stretch.

Portland, meanwhile, finds itself in transition both on and off the court. With Damian Lillard and Scoot Henderson sidelined, the Blazers are relying heavily on veterans like Jerami Grant and Jrue Holiday, along with young talent like Shaedon Sharpe and Donovan Clingan, to carry the load.

Grant led the way with 29 points in their 112–103 opening loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Sharpe scored 21 points. Portland led for most of the game, only to lose the lead late in the 4th. Despite the loss, they showed they could go toe-to-toe with a team that made the Western Conference finals last season.

Predictions

The Warriors simply have too much firepower for the Blazers to handle. Expect a competitive game, but with Golden State closing with a comfortable win.

Prediction: Warriors 118, Trail Blazers 112
