Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant will miss the matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks due to right shoulder soreness.

Sunday will be his second consecutive game missed due to that injury. Memphis defeated Houston 120-119 on Thursday night without Morant.

With Morant out, the Grizzlies (32-16) likely will turn to Desmond Bane and Luke Kennard as their top starting backcourt options. The Grizzlies are 13-7 without Morant this season.

Morant initially suffered his right shoulder injury after absorbing a bump in practice on Wednesday. Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said that it’s believed that Morant’s latest injury is a “short-term” one.

Memphis will be back in action on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs.
