The Indiana Pacers (0-1) face the Memphis Grizzlies (1-1) in a regional matchup Saturday. Tip-off from FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee, is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pacers vs. Grizzlies odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

2024-25 regular-season series: Tied 1-1

The Pacers gave a spirited effort Thursday in their season opener, taking the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder to double overtime before falling 141-135. However, the Pacers covered as 7.5-point home underdogs with the Over (231.5) cashing, which didn’t come in until the first OT. F Obi Toppin scored 20 off the bench and cashed us an Over 10.5 Points. He’s going to be a sneaky follow early on as his enhanced role fleshes out. G Bennedict Mathurin led the way with 36, and F Pascal Siakam had 32.

The Grizzlies were eradicated 146-114 as 3-point home favorites by the Miami Heat Friday. Miami shot the lights out, going 19-for-40 (48%) from distance. G Ja Morant went 4-for-16 from the floor for 12 points. F Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with a team-high 19 points.

Suns at Clippers picks and predictionsPrediction

Pacers 132, Grizzlies 129

The Pacers (+115) are understaffed but not undermanned, so to speak. Playing this season without Haliburton is going to be tough, but even when he’s in there, they spread the ball around so much. I’d probably go with Memphis (-140) if Edey was healthy underneath because the Pacers don’t have an answer for him.

After the fight they showed in the season opener, and with the Grizz laying an egg the night before, give me the PACERS (+115).

No thanks to the spread. The books reacted to my previous Toppin point, and his line is at 13.5 points now. Instead, give me JAREN JACKSON JR. UNDER 1.5 3-POINTERS (-105). He’s just 1-for-8 from behind the arc to start the season, and he has been spending a bit too much time out there. He had just 3 boards in the last game, and they may seek to keep him in the paint to help out there against the run-and-gun Pacers.

Big number here, but we’re going OVER 240.5 (-110). Sure, the Pacers went 2 extra sessions in their opener, but they had 113 at the end of regulation against a great OKC defense. Memphis is the generic brand in the bags of cereal when it comes to defense. The Grizz are 2-0 O/U to start the season.
