MEDFORD, Ore. — Police in Haskell County, Oklahoma, arrested former NBA and Duke basketball player Kyle Singler on Thursday after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.
The police, who allege Singler was under the influence of drugs at the time of arrest, received a call from the woman alleging that Singler chased her and tried to “get” her child.
Singler was born and raised in Medford and graduated from South Medford High School. He was inducted into the Medford Sports Hall of Fame in 2022 after leading South Medford to its first state boys basketball championship and for his later success at Duke University, where he helped win the 2010 NCAA title.
The Detroit Pistons selected Singler in the 2011 NBA Draft, and he later played for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Authorities have not convicted Singler of any crime, and he remains presumed innocent.
