Bryan Armetta shares his three favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s five-game NBA slate.

We’re nearly a week into the 2025-26 NBA season, and teams are starting to get into a groove. That includes coaches, who have begun to show their hand when it comes to rotations. As everyone knows, opportunity is everything in basketball. That goes for both superstars and bench guys.

Making sense of the early-season madness is a surefire way to cash in on some bets. That’s especially true for player props, which can vary depending on the matchup. Who should you back during Saturday’s five-game NBA slate?

Here are three of the top prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s NBA action.

Top NBA prop bet picks

Matas Buzelis 24+ points + rebounds + assists (-113)

Coby White (calf) has been ruled out tonight. That leaves the Bulls without one of their go-to scorers. Outside of Nikola Vucevic and Josh Giddey, this roster lacks players capable of generating 20+ points. That could prove difficult tonight against the Magic, one of the NBA’s stingiest defenses. Still, this is the NBA; expect Chicago to (at minimum) flirt with triple-digits. That should mean plenty of work for some lesser-known names, including Matas Buzelis.

For diehard hoops fans, the second-year pro isn’t much an unknown. The Chicago native looked terrific during the preseason, earning a starting spot in the process. During Wednesday’s season-opener, he delivered a well-rounded 21-point, six-rebound performance vs. Detroit. As a rookie, Buzelis averaged 16.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per 36 minutes. Similar production could prove difficult against Orlando, however. Still, the Magic will likely be without Jalen Suggs (knee), arguably the team’s top perimeter defender. Keeping that in mind, Buzelis should garner enough usage to reach Saturday’s modest PRA total.

Onyeka Okongwu 9+ rebounds (-125)

Atlanta was active this offseason, bringing in former All-Star Kristaps Porzingis. The big man, when healthy, is a lights-out shooter on offense. However, suiting up has proven to be difficult throughout the 30-year-old’s NBA career. Dealing with an illness, KP is looking doubtful to play this evening. That should open up even more minutes for Onyeka Okongwu. Last season, the center averaged 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds in just 27.9 minutes per game. That’s due in part to shared playing time with Clint Capela, now a member of the Rockets.

Okongwu, even in a part-time role, is a double-double threat. That’s especially true when given more playing time. The USC alum posted a career-high 11.5 rebounds per 36 minutes last season. It helps that the Thunder could be without Chet Holmgren (back). The team will already be without Jalen Williams (wrist) and Alex Caruso (concussion). OKC allowed 54.2 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 campaign, third-most in basketball. Add it all up, and Okongwu is poised for a productive night on the glass.

Tim Hardaway Jr. 2+ three-pointers made (-129)

One of the offseason’s more underrated moves saw the Nuggets sign Tim Hardaway Jr. to a one-year deal. By bringing aboard the veteran, Denver now has a capable shooter that can log 20+ minutes off the bench. That’s how things played out on Thursday vs. Golden State. THJ scored ten points on four-of-eight shooting against the Warriors. That’s not an eye-popping stat line, but it’s a solid sign of things to come.

The 33-year-old’s greatest appeal as an NBA player is his shooting. Last season with Detroit, Hardaway Jr. knocked down 36.8% of his three-pointers on 5.9 attempts per game. Granted, he was operating primarily as a starter in Detroit. However, the defensive attention given to Nikola Jokic should lead to open shots for Denver’s ‘other’ players. Teams made 37.0% of their three-pointers last season vs. Phoenix, the fourth-highest mark in basketball. The Suns have been even worse through two games this year, allowing 47.2% of treys to go in. Two makes from beyond the arc feels more than doable for Hardaway Jr. tonight.
