SAN ANTONIO – Victor Wembanyama has been honored after leading the Spurs to a 3-0 start to the 2025-2026 NBA Season.
On Monday, the San Antonio Spurs announced that Wembanyama had been named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week for the opening week of the season, alongside Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Eastern Conference.
“Wembanyama helped guide the Spurs to a 3-0 record to start the season for the first time since 2019, averaging 33.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 6.00 blocks, 2.3 assists, and 1.67 steals in 33.3 minutes while shooting 56.9 percent (37-65) from the field,” said the Spurs in a statement. “He is the first player in NBA history to record 100+ points, 40+ rebounds, and 15+ blocks through his team’s first three games.”

On Oct. 22, in his first game in more than 8 months, Wembanyama posted a Spurs franchise record against the Dallas Mavericks, with 40 points, to go along with 15 rebounds and 3 blocks while shooting 71.4 percent (15-21).

Two nights later, Wembanyama finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 blocks in a 120-116 OT win at New Orleans on Oct. 24

On Oct. 26, Wembanyama recorded 31 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 three-pointers while adding 6 blocks and 3 steals in a 118-107 win vs. Brooklyn.
The Spurs will take on the Toronto Raptors on Monday, Oct. 27.
