GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Clemson head coach Shawn Poppie is on a recruiting roll ahead of his second season with the Tigers.
Trinity Jones, a five-star recruit in the class of 2026, has announced her commitment to Coach Poppie and Clemson, according to multiple reports. She’s the No. 11 recruit in ESPN’s 2026 class rankings and is currently Clemson’s fourth top-50 commit so far.
Jones surprised Poppie and the current Tiger team with her commitment, their reactions included in a video on social media.
The 6-foot-1 shooting guard out of Bolingbrook, Illinois picked Clemson over Tennessee, LSU, TCU, Oklahoma and UCLA, all of which were in the NCAA tournament this past season. Jones is Clemson’s highest-ranked recruit since 2022, according to ESPN, when Ruby Whitehorn committed to the Tigers before transferring to Tennessee.
The Tigers are seeking their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2019.
