It’s rare that a Golden State Warriors game goes by that doesn’t bring some form of antics from Draymond Green. On Monday night, the Green experience got underway in the third quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies.
With the Warriors holding a 91-78 lead with under four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Green broke up a Grizzlies fastbreak with a hard foul on Santi Aldama. Aldama went to the floor after the foul and appeared in pain.
After review, officials deemed Green’s contact unnecessary and issued a Flagrant 1 foul. Green disagreed with the call, going back and forth with the referees and Memphis big man Jaren Jackson Jr.
Despite the foul, it was Green who got the last laugh. Aldama missed both his attempts from the free-throw line. Following the pair of misses, Green had a must-see reaction that brought some laughs to Chase Center.
As the Warriors cruised to a 131-118 win over the Grizzlies, Green finished with seven points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field with 10 assists, four rebounds and a steal in 28 minutes.
Along with a Flagrant 1 foul, Green also has a technical foul on his record that he picked up on opening night against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Green and the Warriors will be back on the floor on Tuesday night for the second leg of a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Clippers.
