The Los Angeles Clippers (2-1) visit the Golden State Warriors (3-1) tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco in a late-night, early-season Western Conference showdown.

Golden State’s offense has been rolling to start the year, averaging 126.5 points per game while ranking second in the NBA in three-point percentage (41.7%). Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler continue to thrive as a scoring tandem in their second season together, combining for over 50 points per game.

Jonathan Kuminga has taken another leap in his fifth season, averaging 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists as a full-time starter.

Defensively, however, the Warriors have struggled. Opponents are shooting 51.8% from the field, and Golden State has already surrendered 140 points twice in its first four games.

The Clippers, meanwhile, have rebounded from a rough 129-108 opening-night loss to the Utah Jazz with back-to-back wins over the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers. Defense has been the catalyst, with L.A. holding opponents to an average of 104.5 points across those two victories.

While the Clippers don’t have the same offensive explosiveness as the Warriors, they’ve shot efficiently overall (52.0% from the field) and showcased a balanced scoring attack — with a different leading scorer in each of their first three games.

Kawhi Leonard and James Harden lead the way at roughly 22 points per game apiece. Bradley Beal remains sidelined, but once healthy, his return could elevate L.A.’s offensive rhythm even further.

Predictions

This one could go either way, but the Clippers’ two-way balance and defensive superiority give them the slight edge.

Prediction: Clippers 127, Warriors 123
