Zion Williamson was out with a foot injury. In his absence, Pelicans guard Jordan Poole recorded 22 points, alongside two rebounds and four assists. Derick Queen added 12 points and three rebounds.

The 2023 champions, the Nuggets, on the other hand, have a 2-1 record. They were last in action on Monday, winning 127-114 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Jamal Murray led all scorers with 43 points, alongside six rebounds and three assists. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double of 25 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists.
