Two Eastern Conference teams that have gotten off to strong starts this season will face off on Tuesday night as the Miami Heat play host to the Charlotte Hornets.
Charlotte and Miami have been two of the most explosive offensive teams in the NBA so far, which is why I’m taking the Over in my Hornets vs. Heat predictions.

Hornets vs Heat prediction
Hornets vs Heat best bet: Over 240.5 (-110 at bet365)
The Charlotte Hornets haven’t won more than 27 games since the 2021-22 season, but there’s every chance that they get over that hurdle this year. The Hornets are out to a 2-1 start behind the strength of an outstanding offense that is putting up 132.0 ppg on 50.9% shooting.

LaMelo Ball has paced the Hornets with 28.3 points and 9.7 assists per game, but he’s far from alone. In the early going, Charlotte has six players averaging double figures, including rookie Kon Knueppel (15.0 ppg), who is shooting 57.9% from three-point range.
The Miami Heat – who have hung around the play-in tournament range for the last two seasons – also came out of the gate fast, starting 2-1 with wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks.
Miami has been nearly as unstoppable as Charlotte offensively, putting up 127.3 ppg to open the year. Norman Powell (24.0 ppg) and Bam Adebayo (19.3 ppg) are among seven Heat players putting up at least 10 ppg.
These two teams are scoring at will and playing at two of the three fastest paces in the NBA so far this year. I’m expecting lots of points tonight – more than enough to hit the Over.

Hornets vs Heat same-game parlay
With both teams playing well to start the season, and little to differentiate them so far, I’m going to take the underdog and the points in my SGP.
Along with that Hornets pick, I’m taking LaMelo Ball to hit the Over on his PRA total, as he’s gone for 45+ PRA in each of his last two games.

Norman Powell is averaging 24.0 ppg so far this season, and has scored at least 28 points in two of his first three games.
Kon Knueppel has started his NBA career by hitting at least three three-pointers in each of his first three games, a streak I expect to continue tonight against the Heat.
