Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis exited Wednesday’s 107–105 win over the Indiana Pacers in the first quarter due to left lower leg soreness.

Davis appeared to tweak his leg after scoring and signaled to the bench before heading to the locker room. The Mavericks ruled him out at halftime, News.Az reports, citing ESPN.

“He tried to return but we didn’t want to take any chances,” head coach Jason Kidd said after the game.

The 32-year-old forward/center had been listed as probable before tipoff because of bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. Davis has struggled with injuries since joining Dallas last season in the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade, appearing in only nine games due to abdominal and adductor issues.

The Mavericks were already short-handed, missing Kyrie Irving (torn ACL), Daniel Gafford (ankle sprain), and Dereck Lively II (knee sprain).
