Pablo Torre: “And the league ultimately chose not to inform the Miami Heat and other teams about the unusual betting activity before Scary Terry got traded to South Beach. Instead, they chose to defer to the feds, who, according to Rozier’s attorney, Jim Trusty, ‘appear to be taking the word of spectacularly incredible sources rather than relying on actual evidence of wrongdoing.'” Jim Trusty (Rozier’s Attorney), quoted: “Terry was cleared by the NBA, and these prosecutors revived that non-case.” Pablo Torre: “But on Wednesday, a source in the NBA league office disputed that to Pablo Torre Finds Out:” NBA League Source, quoted: “Terry’s investigation was never closed, so he was not cleared of anything. Us not being able to find something is not the same as cleared. It is true we did not find a violation of our rules, but we did not close our investigation.”

Pablo Torre: “Last week, we here at Pablo Finds Out asked Clippers PR about Ty Lue’s attendance at the allegedly rigged poker game in Las Vegas, April 2019—the same one involving Chauncey Billups that was mentioned in the federal indictment.” “The Clippers did not respond.” “But going back to that same game in question, my anonymous poker-playing source did eventually hear that something was up.” “A year later, my friend came back to me and said, ‘For sure, that game was cheated.’ And then other people around Vegas had heard about it, too.” “So there was word going around—on the streets—that the game had allegedly been rigged, especially because there were some shady people involved in running the operation.” YouTube | Oct. 30, 2025

“Jones had previously been hired by Lue as part of his coaching staff in Cleveland and has called Lue his best friend. So yes—what you’re looking at here is one hell of a best friend triangle: Lue, Jones, and Billups—all bonded by basketball and, apparently, by poker.” “In fact, in June 2024, Ty Lue and Damon Jones were spotted sitting together on the rail—the poker equivalent of courtside—watching another friend of theirs compete at the World Series of Poker, as seen in the official broadcast of that event.” YouTube | Oct. 30, 2025

“According to multiple sources with direct knowledge of that April 2019 game in Vegas that we’ve been discussing—the same one where Billups was allegedly profiting off of an extremely suspicious hand and a rigged shuffling machine—another ‘face card’ in attendance was current Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue.” “At the time, Lue was an assistant coach for the Clippers. Now, sources say that Lue did not play at the same table as Chauncey Billups—the man he recently called his best friend, and the same man whom Lue would go on to hire as a Clippers assistant in 2020, once he landed the head coaching job.” “But here’s the open secret around the NBA: Ty Lue lives in Vegas during the offseason. He also loves poker. He’s often seen at what many insiders consider the nexus of the NBA poker world—the Aria High Limit Bar—often alongside another retired NBA player: Damon Jones.” YouTube | Oct. 30, 2025

The NBA’s decision on Rozier’s pay suggests that commissioner Adam Silver might not be inclined to void Rozier’s contract before the case is adjudicated. Silver has the ability to void Rozier’s contract if the NBA determines he violated the league’s gambling rules. But a previous NBA investigation found no wrongdoing by Rozier. Rozier, who is in the final year of his contract, is owed 24 payments of $1.1 million beginning Nov. 15. But those payments will not go to Rozier while his case is adjudicated. Shams Charania: He will not see it per paycheck, depending on the outcome and when this outcome will happen. As reported, Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups representatives have said and maintained they are both innocent that they’re going to fight the charges. I’m told this process could take at minimum six to twelve months. x.com | Oct. 29, 2025

Bobby Marks: Statement from the @TheNBPA re: Terry Rozier “While we are in agreement with the league that upholding the integrity of the game is of the utmost importance, their decision to place Terry on leave without pay is counter to the presumption of innocence and inconsistent with the terms of our Collective Bargaining Agreement,” said an NBPA spokesperson. “We plan to challenge their decision via the proper channels.” x.com | Oct. 29, 2025

Ira Winderman: According to an NBA source familiar with the process, the machinations in regard to the Miami Heat luxury tax and salary cap remain ongoing. At the moment, the Heat do not have the space remaining below the luxury tax to sign a replacement player. x.com | Oct. 29, 2025
