Concerned about a police interaction? Here’s OKC’s complaint process

The Oklahoma City Police Department allows formal complaints to be submitted either over the phone or on paper. Here’s what you need to know.

Police are investigating a suspected break-in at what appears to be the home of OKC Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a news outlet is reporting.

According to News9, a heavy police presence was reported on Hillcrest Avenue in Nichols Hills on Thursday night, with initial reports claiming a home break-in. On Friday morning, a Nichols Hills Police Department vehicle was seen inside the home’s front gate.

Gilgeous-Alexander is believed to live at the property in Nichols Hills worth almost $4 million.

The Oklahoman has contacted the Nichols Hills Police Department and the Oklahoma City Police Department for comment.

On Thursday, SGA was at the Paycom Center, where the OKC Thunder claimed a 127-108 win over the Washington Wizards.

According to CNN, there is a trend of burglaries at professional athletes’ homes while they are playing games.

The NFL, NBA and NHL informed teams in November 2024 that organized and skilled groups were targeting the homes of athletes, due to the perception they may have high-end goods and cash.

“The FBI reported that, in most of the incidents, the homes were equipped with alarm systems that were not activated,” the NBA memo obtained by CNN said. “The FBI also reported that the homes were all unoccupied and, in most cases, no dogs were present.”

Several high-profile home burglaries involving sporting stars have been reported in recent years, including the homes of NBA star Luca Doncic and NFL stars Joe Burrow and Travis Kelce.
