Cooper Flagg on Mavericks fans shouting “Flagg” during the National Anthem:

“The first time, it surprised me, I didn’t even really realize what had happened, but it’s pretty cool. The fans have been amazing for us…We’ve gotta keep giving them things to be excited for and cheer… pic.twitter.com/KgzqO5WSTT

Cooper Flagg has played just five games for the Dallas Mavericks in his rookie season. Still, fans of the team already have a tradition that is gaining popularity, involving the name of the top overall pick.

If anyone has been to a Dallas Stars game, you know that during the national anthem, the fans yell “STARS” when it comes up in the anthem. Going off of it, Mavericks’ fans have started yelling “Flag(g)” when it is sung.

The Mavericks’ rookie was a bit shocked when it happened the first time.

Pretty cool to already be the reason for a tradition five games into your professional career.
