The Magic picked up their options for the 2026-27 season on the contracts of guard Anthony Black and forward Tristan da Silva

Orlando did not announce an extension on the deal of forward Jett Howard, who was drafted the same year as Black

The deadline for exercising the options on rookie contracts is Oct. 31

Black is due to make about $10.1 million in 2026-27, and da Silva is under contract for about $3.99 million that season

They are now signed through the 2026-27 season.

The team has until Oct. 31 to pick up the options on players who are eligible for extensions on their rookie contracts.

Black, who played one season at Arkansas, was drafted No. 6 overall by the Magic in the 2023 NBA Draft, and forward Jett Howard out of Michigan was selected No. 11 overall by Orlando that same year.

No announcement was made about Howard’s fourth-year contract option, valued at $7.3 million. The team drafted him with hopes that he would help lift its 3-point shooting, but he spent most of his rookie season with the Magic’s G League team. With the NBA team in Orlando, he has played limited minutes and shot less than 30% from behind the 3-point arc in his first two seasons.

If Orlando does not exercise its option on his contract, he will become an unrestricted free agent after this season. Howard, 6 feet 8 and 215 pounds, would be eligible to re-sign with the Magic in the offseason, but the deal for 2026-27 could not be valued at more than he would have made under his fourth-year option.

Black, 6 feet 7 and 212 pounds, has averaged 12 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes per game so far this season. The 21-year-old has shown steady improvement each season and took the court in the Magic’s five playoff games last season.

Da Silva, 6 feet 8 and 217 pounds, is entering his second season with Orlando after being selected No. 18 overall out of Colorado in the 2024 NBA Draft. He has averaged 9.8 points, 3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20.3 minutes per game so far this season. He played in two playoff games with Orlando last season, averaging 2 rebounds in 2.5 minutes per game. The native of Germany played on the German National Team that won EuroBasket this summer. Before coming to the United States, he played for Schwabing in the Regionalliga and with IBA Muenchen in the NBBL in Germany.

The Magic did not release financial terms on the option years of the contracts of Black and da Silva, but under the terms of the rookie contracts they signed after being drafted, Black’s contract for the 2026-27 season is for about $10.1 million, and da Silva’s is about $3.99 million.
