Justin McBride, who played for the Nevada men’s basketball team last season, has committed to James Madison, per a post on his Instagram page.

McBride began his career at Oklahoma State before transferring to the Wolf Pack for his sophomore season where he was one of the league’s top sixth men last year. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward averaged 7.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game. He shot 52.2 percent from the field, including 24.1 percent from three, while appearing in all 33 games for Nevada with three starts.

McBride scored a career-high 19 points in a win over Fresno State on Feb. 2. McBride scored double-digits points 11 times while earning more playing time as the season progressed. He was slated to be one of Nevada’s top returning players before entering the portal in March. McBride was one of three Wolf Pack players to enter the transfer portal this offseason along with Nick Davidson (Clemson) and Yuto-Yamanouchi Williams (Oral Roberts).

James Madison went 20-12 overall and 13-5 in the Sun Belt (tied for first) last season under first-year head coach Preston Spradlin. The Dukes went 32-4 and reached the NCAA Tournament’s second round the year prior. The school is located in Harrisonburg, Va.
