The Golden State Warriors (4-2) travel to face the Indiana Pacers (0-5) tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Indiana has been hit hard by injuries. After coming within one win of an NBA title last season, expectations were already lowered with star guard Tyrese Haliburton ruled out for the year.

The Pacers have been competitive at times — including a double-overtime loss to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on opening night — but remain winless while the injury list grows. Bennedict Mathurin and Andrew Nembhard are nursing ailments, and forward Obi Toppin will be sidelined until at least February after undergoing foot surgery to insert a screw in his right foot.

Given the state of the roster, Indiana should start shopping for next year’s lottery picks.

Golden State, meanwhile, has looked revitalized early in the season. Stephen Curry continues to play at an elite level, averaging 27.0 points per game, while Jimmy Butler has been a steady secondary scorer at 21.7 points per game. Jonathan Kuminga has also taken a leap after signing his new deal, contributing 17.5 points per contest.

The Warriors dropped their last outing to the Milwaukee Bucks, 120-110, revealing some vulnerabilities against top-tier competition. But against an injury-depleted Pacers squad tonight, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Prediction

Expect an easy win for the Warriors tonight as they face a heavily outmanned Pacer team.

Prediction: Warriors 125, Pacers 105
