The Sacramento Kings (2-4) travel to take on the Denver Nuggets (3-2) tonight at Ball Arena in Denver.

The Kings have stumbled out of the gate but are coming off their best performance of the young season — a 135-133 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

Four starters scored at least 24 points, and Domantas Sabonis notched a season-high 24 after a slow start to the year. Until that breakout, Sacramento’s offense had been carried almost exclusively by Zach LaVine (29.5 PPG) and DeMar DeRozan (20.7 PPG). If Sabonis continues to reassert himself and the Kings maintain balanced scoring from both the frontcourt and backcourt, they could re-enter the playoff picture in a crowded Western Conference.

The Nuggets, meanwhile, are coming off a 109-107 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers that snapped a three-game winning streak.

Denver squandered a 10-point lead entering the fourth quarter, with Portland sealing the win on a pair of free throws with 1.4 seconds left.

Nikola Jokić finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists — narrowly missing what would’ve been his fifth consecutive triple-double. Jokić has taken on more of a facilitating role this season, while Jamal Murray (26.0 PPG) has led the scoring charge. But Murray is listed as questionable with a sore left calf. Still, the Nuggets remain undefeated at home this year and are tough to beat in Denver.

Prediction

Denver’s home-court advantage, deeper rotation, and stronger defensive execution give them the edge. Expect the Kings to stay competitive and continue their offensive surge, but the Nuggets should close it out late.

Prediction: Nuggets 125, Kings 121
