LOS ANGELES — The Thunder (7-0) are starting a four-game road trip on Tuesday night against the LA Clippers (3-3) as Oklahoma City looks to remain the only unbeaten team in the league.

OKC walks into the Intuit Dome tonight following Sunday’s blowout win against the New Orleans Pelicans, tying last year’s franchise record of seven straight wins to start the year.

The Thunder became the third team in NBA history to achieve 7-0 starts in consecutive seasons, joining the 1963-65 Boston Celtics and the 1993-95 Houston Rockets who both went on to become back-to-back champions.

The Thunder have achieved this mark despite the absence of several key players including all-star forward Jalen Williams who has not played yet this season and Chet Holmgren who has sat out for the last three games.

Holmgren, who was not listed in Monday’s injury report, is expected to return for tonight’s game as the Thunder look to make history yet again with a franchise record 8-0 start. Standing in their way is the Clippers who have made several off-season additions since their last matchup during the 2024-25 season, including Thunder alumnus Chris Paul and former all-star guard Bradley Beal.

The Clippers’ leading scorer Kawhi Leonard and Beal are both listed as questionable for tonight’s game, which could prove troublesome for the team on the offensive end.

However, 2018 league MVP and Thunder alumnus James Harden is set to play tonight as the Clippers will need his offensive spark against one of the league’s toughest defenses. Harden leads his team in assists (9.2 APG) and is second in points per game for the Clippers (21.8 PPG).

Tonight’s matchup in the interior will be something to watch as the Clippers’ center Ivica Zubac has continued his statistical jump from last season with 14.2 PPG and 10.2 RPG so far this year. Zubac will match up with the Thunder’s leader in rebounds, Isaiah Hartenstein, in what is sure to be a physical battle in the paint.

The high-flying pair of Clippers forwards, John Collins and Derrick Jones Jr., are also names to watch tonight as they will likely matchup with Holmgren in his return to the floor.

Although LA hasn’t gotten off to the strongest start defensively this season, the Clippers were one of the top defensively ranked teams last season as they go up against the Thunder who currently hold the best defensive rating in the NBA.

As for the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off of three straight 30+ point games and second-year guard Ajay Mitchell has continued to impress this season averaging a little over 17 PPG so far this season.

Tonight’s game tips off at 10 p.m. (CT).
