The Atlanta Hawks (3-4) visit the Orlando Magic (3-4) tonight at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Atlanta has gone 2-1 without Trae Young, who suffered a sprained MCL just seven minutes into last week’s game against the Brooklyn Nets. He’s expected to be sidelined until the end of the month.

Those two wins came against the struggling Nets and a shorthanded Indiana Pacers team. On Sunday, the Hawks fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers despite shooting an impressive 50.6% from the field. They made too many turnovers (22), and the Cavaliers shot a high volume from downtown (57 attempts), making 35.1% of them, while struggling from the field overall.

Orlando, meanwhile, enters on a two-game winning streak after dropping three straight. The Magic’s recent victories came over two high-paced but defensively weak teams — the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.

Desmond Bane, Orlando’s major offseason addition, has struggled, averaging just 8.7 points per game over his last three outings. But the frontcourt trio of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Wendell Carter Jr. has been dominant, combining for 69 points in Saturday’s win over Washington.

If the Magic continue to get that kind of frontcourt production and Bane settles in, they could emerge as a serious Eastern Conference contender.

Prediction

With the Hawks missing their star and Orlando finding its groove, the Magic have the advantage.

Prediction: Magic 119, Hawks 112
