Keyonte George may be battling through a foot injury, but it’s impossible to tell based on his play on the court.

The Utah Jazz’s third-year guard is taking on more responsibility than anyone expected at the beginning of training camp. On a roster full of players still figuring out who they are, George is emerging as the conductor of the offense.

A late-lottery selection in 2023, he flashed promise throughout his first two seasons. However, inconsistencies weighed down his budding stardom. This year, though, he is showing that he’s ready to become a true offensive initiator.

In his first eight games, he is averaging 22.6 points, 7.9 assists, and 3.5 rebounds. Against the Boston Celtics on Nov. 3, he scored 31 points and added five assists.
